The frame is made of sturdy 1" PVC pipe. I bought the 11" square model to hold my Celestial Dragon piece. When I first took the frame out of the package, I found four right-angled pieces (7" long on one edge and 2" long on the other), four straight connector pieces (2" long), and four 8" curved clip pieces. Here are of all of the pieces, disassembled:

I love, love, love, love it! The frame is lightweight and very sturdy, and the wide clip pieces hold the fabric snugly and safely without creating hoop marks. To adjust the tension, you just rotate the clip pieces inward or outward. I haven't had a hoop on this cross stitch piece since Thursday (June 14), and you can see the marks that still remain on the fabric two days later. In comparison, the Q-snap frame didn't leave sharp marks on my fabric after two whole days in the frame. The fabric is still slightly curved, but there is no sharp edge like the hoop left.
Look, Ma! No frame marks! |
So... here is the good news! I love the Q-Snap frame so much, I would love to be able to show one of my readers how fantastic it is. That's why I am going to give one away - totally free! I have a brand new 8" Q-snap frame that I will ship to one of my lucky readers at the end of June. You don't even have to pay shipping! I just want to share this with someone who will hopefully enjoy it as much as I do. I have set up a raffle through Rafflecopter (see the widget at the end of this post to enter). Hi! Just found your blog by chance blog hopping, I have just restarted mine too http://x-stitchdelights.blogspot.co.uk/ Loved the review was thinking about buying some myself because of the marks using hoops makes. If I don't win I will definitely be getting some :-)
ReplyDeleteHello, Funny thing, I just found the blog as well. I was craft blog hopping (not as exciting as bar hopping, but just as fun). The celestial dragon looks amazing, can't wait to see it finished. My hubby picked me up a frame from a second hand store, but it just doesn't hold the fabric tight enough. This frame looks like it will beat mine hands down. Thanks for offering it up.
ReplyDeleteI just started cross-stitching within the past month and don't use a hoop or frame at all.
ReplyDeleteBut I think one of these frames would definitely come in handy.
I love QSnaps, too. The only thing is, they can be a bit heavy. What I found is the K's Creations Z frame with the Qsnap clamp on it.They cost around $60 but sometimes you can find them on ebay for much less.
ReplyDeleteOnce I put my Qsnap in the Z frame, I am able to clip on a magnifier (and also one of the tiny MightyBright lights. OMG am I set!
Both hands free, I can stitch much quicker, I can see tiny holes much clearer, my wrists don't hurt, my stitches come out so much nicer (easier to railroad, too) AND when putting beads on, both hands are free.
Best $60 I ever spent.
(dont enter me in your frame giveaway, I have lots and lots of them and want someone else to learn how great they are)
What a wonderful alternative to a hoop!
ReplyDeleteInstead they now look for cost-effective advertisement ways such as inflatable flags and banners. banner printing, like any other inflatable advertising products, is unique enough to use in different trade shows and business events.
